Constantine Mining LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vizsla Copper Corp., is committed to responsible mineral exploration at the Palmer VMS Project located near Haines, Alaska.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mountain Crew Foreman leads the Mountain Crew who is responsible for all mountain support tasks related to the exploration program and for the safety and well-being of our exploration team members operating in challenging mountainous environments. The Mountain Crew Foreman will play a key role in emergency response, risk management, and providing expert guidance in mountain safety protocols. This is a full-time, seasonal position for the 2026 exploration season, approximately June to October.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise Mountain Crew team members in the construction of drill pads and waterline support as needed.
- Coordinate with driller foreman on a daily basis in regards to waterlines, pumps, and drill pad inspections.
- Work closely with the geological and engineering teams to understand project requirements and coordinate construction activities to meet project timelines.
- Build sturdy and stable drill, pump, and heli pads using a variety of construction techniques and materials to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct risk assessments for mountain exploration activities and provide recommendations to minimize potential hazards.
- Install and maintain water supplies to drill sites.
- Assist with trail and road layout work, brushing, and clearing as needed.
- Environmental and geological field survey support as needed.
- Assist with management of prompt emergency response efforts in mountainous terrain, including search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and response to natural disasters.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mountain rescue operations, preferably in a remote or mineral exploration setting.
- Wilderness First Aid (WFA) required, WFR certification required, advanced medical training is a plus.
- 5 or more years’ experience working in and around helicopters performing sling load and long line operations is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Mechanical aptitude with carpentry, and experience with power tools.
- Construction or carpentry experience is a plus.
- Mountain hazard awareness and risk assessment.
- Ability to work in adverse weather and glaciated, mountainous terrain.
- Physical fitness and the ability to operate effectively in challenging and remote environments. Must provide physical fitness certification post offer.
- Technical rope rescue, and other relevant emergency response certifications is a plus.
- Avalanche, Rockfall Mitigation, and/or High Angle Rescue Certification is a plus.
- Proficient use of GPS, communication devices, and other relevant technology for rescue operations.

- Mindset that factors personnel safety, environmental protection, and community commitment into every decision and action.
- Self-motivation with good attention to detail.
- Valid driver license with clean driving record.
- All new employees must pass a background check.
SCHEDULE: Work hours generally begin at 7:00 AM; schedule and rotations to be discussed.
PAY RATE: We offer a competitive salary structure dependent upon experience and qualifications.
LOCATION: Palmer Project Camp near Haines, Alaska during the field season. Camp accommodation and meals are provided. Preference will be given to qualified local candidates.
