Responsible Mineral Exploration in Haines, Alaska

Safety & Environment

People, Community & Environmental Safety

Constantine is committed to the health and safety of our employees, the local community, and the environment. Through implementing safety measures and ongoing environmental data collection, we will continue to enhance our understanding of the existing natural environment and inform the responsible development of the Palmer Project.

Our promise to safety

The people at Constantine are a team who prioritize the health and safety of all personnel involved in our exploration projects, including employees, contractors, and the surrounding communities. This commitment translates to a comprehensive safety management program designed to mitigate risks and prevent accidents or incidents.

In addition, our robust safety protocols are built upon a foundation of industry best practices and rigorous regulatory compliance. We invest in comprehensive training programs that equip all personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely and identify potential hazards.

Keeping our standards for safety to our employees and the surrounding community, we provide ongoing support and resources to ensure a safe work environment throughout all stages of exploration. This commitment includes open communication and collaborative efforts to minimize potential impacts.

Environmental Review

A cornerstone of responsible mineral exploration lies in our commitment to environmental baseline data collection and review. This isn’t simply a box to check; it’s a comprehensive framework designed to manage our exploration activities while considering environmental conservation.

This proactive approach helps us manage exploration activities with a keen eye on conservation. By establishing a detailed environmental baseline, we are equipped to identify and mitigate potential risks like habitat disruptions or water quality issues early on. Our ongoing environmental review process not only adheres to but often exceeds regulatory standards, ensuring the protection of Southeast Alaska’s natural and cultural environments.

Permits and Regulatory Compliance

Our exploration activities, closely overseen by state and federal agencies, reflect our commitment to legal and environmental standards. Key authorizations include:
• Federal Plan of Operations for exploration drilling on BLM claims.
• State permits for data collection on State Mining Claims.
• Plan of Operations approval from the Trust Land Office on Mental Health Trust lands.
• Camp permits from the State of Alaska on private land. These permits are testament to our rigorous adherence to environmental safety and regulatory compliance, underscoring our commitment to responsible exploration.

Environmental Baseline Data

Baseline environmental data collection has been ongoing at the Palmer Project for many years. Collection of baseline environmental data helps build an understanding of the existing environment, educates Constantine about potentially sensitive areas, and informs potential future project development. As Constantine continues exploration activities, existing baseline data collects programs may change in scope, scale, or location to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing environment.

Our efforts include:
• Climate Analysis: Long-term meteorological data collection to assess climate patterns.
Water Monitoring: Installation of groundwater wells and surface water studies to evaluate water movement and quality.
Ecological Surveys: Detailed fish surveys and wildlife observations to provide an understanding of the existing conditions and protect sensitive habitats and cultural resources.
